Job Description
CrossBoundary Group is recruiting a fulltime Chief of Staff. You will be responsible for driving all central operations of the Group, from monthly firm-wide All Hands calls to quarterly CrossBoundary Group Board meetings. You will work in partnership with CrossBoundary Group’s Chief Operating Officer, ensuring all Group-level processes and systems run smoothly and adapt as the needs of the firm change. You will interact regularly with other members of the firm’s Group senior leadership, including Group Partners and other members of the Group Executive Team.
CrossBoundary is not a development firm and is not seeking typical development skills. You will be expected to manage stakeholders, drive processes, and solve problems at a high level.

- Lead all Group-level and cross-platform executive body meetings, including Platform Leadership Group, Group Leadership Forum, and IM Leadership Forum
- Calendar, set the agenda, facilitate, and fully own all executive body meetings
- Drive the firm-wide monthly All Hands calls

- Support the COO to prep and facilitate quarterly Group Board meetings
- Partner with the COO to chair regular quarterly Group Council meetings, annual organic investment pitch sessions, and ad hoc inorganic investment pitches
- Oversee production of all organic investment materials, ensuring consistent standards and templates
- Facilitate voting for all organic and inorganic investment decisions
- Draft and share communication of all decisions to Group leadership, and then firm-wide
- Interface with Group Partners to define biannual rotating membership for Group Council
- Implement and codify the Group new hire process alongside the COO, ensuring requests are submitted quarterly and decisions are made and communicated within one month
- Work directly with the COO, Global Head of Administration, Director of Global Communications, Learning & Development Manager, and Group Partners to realize the biannual CrossBoundary Summit
- Support the Global Head of Administration to calendar and book the Summit, selecting the location and ensuring coordination of all logistics
- Define the agenda, identify and assign facilitators to sessions, and work with facilitators to design each session to ensure flow and consistency across sessions
- Coordinate the delivery of all content across the four-day Summit, in partnership with the COO
- Work with the Summit planning team to communicate information to team members firm-wide at each stage of the planning process
- Drive firm-level collaborations with Brown Advisory
- Ensure continual tracking of all CrossBoundary-Brown Advisory collaborations
- Seek ways to proactively connect members of CrossBoundary with counterparts at Brown Advisory to build and grow working relationships
- Evaluate and update the Group-level information architecture, working with the Director of Global Communications and Information Technology Manager to build new or transition existing architecture, as needed
- Ensure all information is available and accessible on InBounds
- Survey teams to understand current and missing resources, as well as platform leadership to understand existing information architecture within each platform
- Build any necessary structures or software to realize the optimal information architecture
- Communicate any changes to the information architecture firm-wide, and ensure team members understand how to access the information they need
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Entrepreneurial mindset to creatively and independently solve new problems with no established paths or proven solutions
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent people and stakeholder management skills
- Strong collaboration and prioritization skills
- Strong working knowledge of CrossBoundary Group, including all CrossBoundary platforms
- At least 5 years of work experience in a problem solving and stakeholder management capacity (e.g., consulting, strategy) at globally operating organizations
- Experience with organizations focused on the intersection of private capital and underserved markets (preferred)
- Prior experience in developing countries (preferred)
