Job Description
CrossBoundary Advisory is recruiting a full-time Senior Associate to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya.
As a Senior Associate, you will identify and evaluate investment opportunities, conduct macroeconomic market assessments, and provide investment transaction support. We are seeking candidates with 4+ years of experience in high-calibre consulting or finance organizations. Experience working in developing countries, particularly in Africa, is highly valued.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or other relevant advanced degree/professional qualification preferred
- 4+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or similar
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills: able to structure problems logically and design solutions that address core issues
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to operate effectively in dynamic environments
- Willingness to take on new types of work, even without prior experience or direct supervision
- Excellent presentation and communication skills across diverse audiences
- Self-starter who is humble and passionate about creating lasting change in underserved markets
- Enthusiastic about working, traveling, and living in sometimes challenging environments
- Experience living and/or working in underserved or developing markets (particularly in Africa) is highly valued
Primary Responsibilities
- Support and manage multiple projects, transactions, and workstreams concurrently
- Conduct and draft analyses including financial models, market assessments, investment memorandums, pitch decks, and macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
- Independently cultivate and manage relationships with investors, clients, companies, and other stakeholders
- Drive client workstreams directly and independently
- Manage entire project portfolios and make complex, value-driven decisions
- Mentor and develop junior staff
- Foster talent and encourage diversity of people and ideas across teams and the firm
Location
This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya. This role will involve travel across the region.
