Job Description  

CrossBoundary Energy is recruiting a Network Operations Center (NOC) Monitoring Analyst for the development and implementation of its Telecom Energy as a Service Company (TESCo) activities in Sierra Leone.  We are actively pursuing opportunities to provide Energy Services to integrate solar PV and storage solutions with telecom customers who rely on diesel generators to provide power to their operations.  Our hybrid Power System solutions can provide cheap, reliable and renewable power to our customers, but require 24x7x365 monitoring to maximise Power Availability and return on investment.  The Monitoring Analyst will support 24x7x365 monitoring of CBE and selected client assets, working closely with subcontractors, platform providers and the client.  CBE is not an EPC or a pure developer, as we seek to build a portfolio of long-term, high-performing assets, CBE will look to you for practical insights on how to make discrete business decisions that will directly affect our financial outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Monitor all Zoodlabs sites remotely via the NOC and RMS 

  • Identify and escalate faults related to power systems, rectifiers, batteries, and telecommunications equipment.  

  • Coordinate with Site Engineers and Technicians to dispatch field teams for on-site troubleshooting 

  • Plan, schedule, monitor and execute routine maintenance via subcontractors and technicians, including generator maintenance, power system maintenance and refueling  

  • Act as the decision maker for incidents that require escalation to 2nd and 3rd line support lines Conduct trend analysis to detect potential failures and recommend preventive maintenance actions.  

  • Maintain logs of alarms, faults, and maintenance activities 

  • Provide technical reports on system performance, downtime trends, and recommendations.  

  • Assist in system testing, upgrades, and performance assessments.  

  • Report and analyse performance data on Network Operations, especially MTTR and othert incident resolution metrics, including providing reporting data necessary to manage subcontractors and field agents 

Qualifications 

Ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: 

  • One year’s experience in power systems monitoring, telecommunications, or a related role.  

  • Knowledge of Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS), SCADA, or similar platforms.  

  • Ability to interpret technical data, alarms, and diagnostics.  

  • Familiarity with UPS systems, battery storage, rectifiers, and diesel generators.  

  • Working knowledge of Telecom BTS and preferably hybrid energy systems  

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes, and process improvement methodologies such as Lean6SIgma 

  • Experience with monitoring and control systems 

Required skills and qualifications:  

  • One year’s work experience in a technical role  

  • Ability to interpret technical data, alarms, and diagnostics.  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 monitoring environment. 

  • Undergone some project management training 

  • Experience working in Africa 

  • Interest and understanding of the telecom world
