Job Description  

CrossBoundary Energy is recruiting a full-time Chief of Staff for Matt Tilleard. You will be responsible for assisting the CEO of CrossBoundary Energy to drive our leadership agenda through to action. You will work in partnership with CrossBoundary Energy’s Chief Operating Officer, ensuring all processes and systems run smoothly and adapt as the needs of the firm change. You will interact regularly with other members of CrossBoundary Energy’s management team.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Shape and drive executive alignment and decision-making 

  • Partner with the CEO to define strategic priorities, set the agenda, and lead high-impact executive body meetings that drive alignment and accountability across the leadership team 

  • Lead firmwide engagement and communication 

  • Collaborate with the CEO to craft and deliver compelling weekly All Hands meetings that reinforce company vision, strategic progress, celebrate progress, and foster a culture of transparency and inclusion 

  • Design and lead firmwide engagement forums that drive strategic clarity and cultural cohesion 

  • Partner with the CEO to create and run effective senior leadership meetings that encourage rigorous problem solving on the major issues facing the company 

  • Enable CEO effectiveness across strategy, culture, and execution 

  • Drive cross-functional coordination and executive follow-through 

  • Institutionalize cultural clarity and manage team engagement cadence 


Qualifications

  • Entrepreneurial mindset to creatively and independently solve new problems with no established paths or proven solutions 

  • Excellent project management skills 

  • Excellent people and stakeholder management skills 

  • Strong collaboration and prioritization skills 

  • Strong working knowledge of CrossBoundary Group, including all CrossBoundary platforms 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least five years of work experience in a problem solving and stakeholder management capacity (e.g., journalism, consulting, strategy) at globally operating organizations 

  • Experience with organizations focused on the intersection of private capital and underserved markets (preferred) 

  • Prior experience in developing countries (preferred) 

Location 

Flexible given candidate-specific considerations. Preference for Nairobi for co-location with CEO
